Best burger in Niagara belongs to The Guilty Burger

I’ve tried burgers from all over North America – from gourmet restaurants to authentic roadside barbecue grills – a good burger is definitely one of my guilty pleasures. But one of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted comes from a local joint in my hometown of St. Catharines, Ontario. And, it’s aptly named The Guilty Burger. (Thanks to my friend Riley for telling me I absolutely had to try this place – check out her blog Spades and Sparkles here.)

This walk-in burger joint makes some of the juiciest, tastiest and freshest burgers you’ll ever eat. Owner/operator Winston grinds the beef from a homemade brisket every morning before opening shop. The sauces are house-made and all of the ingredients are locally sourced in the Niagara region. The patties are literally melt-in-your-mouth and, although the various burger options and toppings are amazing, they would taste just as good plain.

The Guilty Burger.

The Guilty Burger.

There are at least eight different burgers available on the menu at all times, including a veggie burger. My go-to is, of course, the signature ‘Guilty Burger’, which I will explain below along with a few of the more adventurous options.

  • The Guilty Burger – Double-patty, bacon, cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato and house sauce.
  • The Sloth Porker Burger – Single beef patty, jerk pulled pork, double-smoked cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and house sauce.
  • The Hangover Burger – Single beef patty, bacon, cheese, peanut butter, jam, fried egg.

Whether you like a simple burger or something with a bit more flare and flavour, The Guilty Burger is THE place to go in Niagara to satisfy your burger craving.
